Welcome to Crossroads!

Crossroads Church of God exists to reach the community with the message that Jesus saves! (see 1 Timothy 1:15 in the Bible)
We believe we can best achieve this purpose by:
1. Sharing Our Stories (see 1 Thessalonians 2:18)
2. Serving The Community (see Ephesians 6:7)
3. Discipling Believers (see Colossians 1:28-29)
Crossroads Church of God is connected with the Church of God with U.S. offices in Anderson, IN.
We do not have a written creed that articulates all of our beliefs.
Our movement has a long standing slogan that states “the Bible is our rule of faith.”

For many years, the church was known as "Wright's Corners Church of God". Why was the corner of Coon Lake Rd and D19 known as "Wright's Corners"? Alfred & Sarah Wright bought 187 acres on what is now the South West corner of Coon Lake Rd and D19. They built a log cabin, and then later on, a beautiful 2 story frame house with 11' ceilings on both floors, and a full basement.

In the old days it seemed that the mail carrier was struggling to get through to folks who lived back off D19 because of terrible muddy roads. So, the Wright's put up a large community mailbox in the middle of their front yard so that people in the area could get mail delivery. All folks had to do was request that their mail be addressed in care of Wright's Corners.

Charles E. Dietrick and his wife Lola had a vision for a Church of God congregation in Livingston County when they began their ministry in 1925.  A tent meeting was held on Page Field with Adrian DeWard and Clyde Thompson as evangelists.   Services were held for two years in the old Post Office on Northern Michigan Ave in Howell.

The Dietrick's then started a Sunday School at the old Harger School four miles south of Howell on Pinckney Road.  The school had frequently been used for services by various groups since the late 1800's.

Full church services began in 1930 with Rev. Dietrick continuing to serve as a bi-vocational Pastor.   A new building was started in 1939 and completed in 1943.

The church was pastored by Rev. and Mrs. Doyle Helbling from 1944-1946.

Rev. Alan Hancock served bi-vocationally as Pastor from 1947-1971 during which time the church experienced considerable growth. A larger sanctuary and parsonage were built which serve the church to this day.

Rev. Richard Latham was the first "full time" pastor and served from 1971-1974.

Rev. Timothy Andreanopolus served from 1974-1978.

Rev. Charles Hawkins began his ministry in 1978 and was followed by Rev. Duane Moore. Rev. Paul Kirkpatrick served as Interim Pastor during 1996 and 1997.

Rev. Don & Joanne Hendrick and their family served as bi-vocational pastors from 1997 to 2005.

Rev. Don & Phyllis O'Leary were called to serve part-time as Pastors of Visitation in the spring of 1998, and served as Interim Pastor from March 2005 until January 2006.

Rev. Mike and Angela Harris and their family came to Crossroads in July 2006 to serve as our full-time pastor and served until November 2021.

Rev. Rob Tramel and his wife Margo and their family began serving at Crossroads in February of 2022 and are currently serving full time.
